Sir Henry Fitzhardinge Berkeley Maxse, who died in 1883 while in office as Governor of Newfoundland, having previously been Governor of Heligoland. Maxse served in the Crimean War, where he took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade at the battle of Balaclava
