Sir Samuel White Baker (1821 - 1893), British military officer, explorer, abolitionist, engineer and writer. Sir White Baker's second wife Lady Florence Baker (1841 - 1916) an Eastern European Slave whom Sir Samuel had met on his travels and run away with to get married.
