Sir Vincent Litchfield Raven KBE (3 December 1859 – 14 February 1934), chief mechanical engineer of the North Eastern Railway from 1910 to 1922. He was the son of the rector of Great Fransham and was educated at Aldenham SCool. He became a pupil of Mr E. Fletcher, who was then chief mechanical engineer of the North-Eastern Railway Company. He was appointed chief assistant mechanical engineer in 1902. In his railway work, her had 18,000 men under his charge. During World War I, Raven was Superintendent at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich where he organised munitions production, for which he received a knighthood in 1917.
