Front cover of The Sketch magazine with an illustration displaying the recipe for a 'midnight cocktail' which would be served at the magazine's Midnight Ball held at the Savoy Hotel in June 1914. The cocktail was created by the well-known mixers, Sid Knight and Abbot of the Alhambra and Palace American bars. The exact quantities had to be used and the cocktail was on sale at the Savoy's own famous American bar during the ball.
