Imitating grown-ups, society children in fancy dress - photographs taken at a ball for children given by Lady Clementine Waring for her daughter, Miss Clematis Waring. Top left is the Hon. Rosemary Guest in a Velazquez dress, top right is Clematis in a dress of the Charles I period. Other costumes include Henry VIII, a bacchante, Robin Hood, Romeo, Anna Pavlova, a Pierrot and 'red Indians'.
