Men of the 2nd Suffolk Regiment on duty at the Brynkinalt Colliery Chirk sitting at their ease on pit-props. The soldiers (together with a contingent from the Shropshire Light Infantry and some police) were drafted in by the Home Secretary to protect miners returning to work during the strike.
