Front cover of The Sphere featuring a symbolic illustration by the Italian artist, Eduardo Matania, to reflect the involvement of 'young Italy' in the Tripoli campaign, an area where the Romans also drew swords. The invasion of Italy into modern-day Libya in 1911 was to trigger the Italo-Turkish war and Italian colonisation of the area.
