State barge of the Chief of Yawnghwe (Nyaungshwe), southern Burma (now Myanmar), South East Asia. The prow is in the shape of the Sacred Bird, and a seven-roofed spire or Pyathat (Pyatthat) rises in the middle. Under it is a golden canopy to shelter the golden images of Buddha, and the ten white umbrellas are opened when these are taken aboard, as part of an annual festival.
