Photograph showing a statue of the child Christ, which had been removed from a church and dressed as a Republican militiaman, with gun and red flag, near Cordoba, 1936. It was reported that the statue had been placed in the road as a warning to drivers entering the village of Bailen to stop and have their papers examined.
