Stowe House, Buckinghamshire - a proposed (competitive) design by Borra, an Italian architect brought over by Earl Temple with many Italian craftsman to create his palace. Borra did not win the South Front commission but helped create the Marble Saloon and was involved with decorative plasterwork for the interiors. This engraving was done in 1753 and the actual South Front was remodelled in the 1770s. Stowe House was the seat of Temple-Grenville family and is now a public school.
