A scene of the inside of the institution called - The Strangers' Home for Asiatics, Africans and South Sea Islanders - West India Dock Road, Limehouse in London. This was not a free house but for 14 shillings a week foreign workers, such as sailors, servants and so on could enjoy the comforts of a well managed boarding or lodging house. It was founded in 1856 and paid for both by Indian and English gentry and businessmen.
