Police-guarded deputation headed by Emmeline Pankhurst with large crowds in London. Mrs. Pankhurst had given the signal and 108 arrests by violently smacking a genial inspector's face, the would-be riot subsided. On the outskirts of the crowd some of the women amused themselves by breaking plate-windows.
