Description | T. Roger Boulton, Crufts chairman |
Details |
Mr. T. Roger Boulton, Chairman of the Committee of Cruft's Dog Show, and an expert on the bulldog breed. He was for many years secretary of the Metropolitan and Essex Canine Society and then President of the London Bulldog Society which took a leading part in improving the breed. When the widow of the late Charles Cruft transferred the organisation of the famous Cruft's show to the Kennel Club after the Second World War, Mr Boulton acted as vice-chairman from 1948 to 1953 to Mr J. V. Rank and on the latter's death assumed the chairmanship. Mr Boulton, an industrialist, lived in Essex and was, rather bizarrely, a lieading collector of miniature suits of armour.
