Front cover of The Tatler with a caricature by The Tout of Hugh Arthur Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster. Generally known as 'Bendor,' the duke is pictured here with a report on his bravery in action in France during a charge of the 9th Lancers at Compiegne when he rode to the rescue of Captain Grenfell. The Duke was prominent in the racing, shooting and polo world, hence the outfit in which he is depicted.
