The Tatler front cover featuring a photograph of the Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother) with Princess Elizabeth of York (later Queen Elizabeth II) taken in July 1927, shortly after her first birthday. Although Elizabeth was not expected to inherit the throne in the 1920s, her and her family were popular subjects in the newspapers and society magazines of the day.
