The aeroplane in warfare: aeroplanes used for finding the range of the enemy's entrenchments. Left: a fire bomb, attached to a parachute, dropped from a Taube monoplane. Right: a shrapnel bomb thrown from a German aeroplane onto British soldiers entrenched below.
