Illustration showing the Agamemnon caught in a storm, in the first attempt to lay a transatlantic telegraph cable for the Atlantic Telegraph Company.
The worst storm was during the 20th and 21st of June, when the Agamemnon rolled so heavily and dangerously, leading to serious fears that the masts would go overboard, or that she would capsize completely.
