Description | The Ancient Briton on his Crannog |
Details |
An artists impression of the interior of an ancient British dwelling, of the type to be found at the lake village near Glastonbury, Somerset. The village was constructed on a crannog, an artificial island made by heaping timber, clay and stone on the lakebed. The interior shown includes a rough tree-trunk table, a wooden pail with bronze bands, and earthenware pots. Meat is hanging from the central post, which is supporting the roof.
