Description The Anglo-Japanese Alliance: celebrations in Japan
Details

The triumphal arch erected at Nagasaki in honour of the Alliance. The arch, which was covered with foliage, bore appropriate mottoes in English and Japanese, and was surmounted by the combined English and Japanese flags.
