Colonel John Jacob Astor IV, multi-millionaire American businessman, and his second wife Madeleine. Married in September 1911, they returned from a honeymoon trip to Europe in the ill-fated Titanic. Colonel Astor perished in the disaster but Madeleine survived, and gave birth to his son in August.
