Description The Battle of the Roer Triangle; Second World War, 1945
Details

Allied Second Army crossing the Vloed Beek in Holland during a night attack on the 17th January 1945. On the left of the image one can see sappers constructing an improvised causeway across the stream, whilst on the right the British troops can be seen moving towards the village of Dieteren. This sketch was made by the Illustrated London News special artist, Captain Bryan de Grineau, who was stationed with the British Second Army in Holland.
