Picture No 10511556
Date November 1920
Description The Battle of Tralee
Details

The supposed scene following the 'Battle of Tralee'. A press release suggested that a convoy of Royal Irish Constabulary cadets had been ambushed by Republicans. The photo purports to show the dead bodies of a cadet and two Sinn Fein members, with other cadets in the background taking prisoners. It was later revealed that the incident had been staged and was without foundation.
