Interior of a sleeping berth on the new, luxurious Blue Train from Calais to the French Riviera, conveying passengers to the warm climes of the South of France in the utmost comfort. Picture shows a male traveller reading in bed. The train was built by the Leeds Forge Company for the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits et des Grands Express Europeens. It was carpeted and furnished by British furniture retailer Waring and Gillow. The single-berth sleeping compartments offered all the comforts of a normal bedroom, were perfectly self-contained but could connect to other compartments if required.
