Description | The Brand of Cain by Bruce Bairnsfather |
Details |
'Of course it will never be like this. The usual anaemic "finding" similar to the Dardanelles "Report" will come along, which will almost conclusively show that nobody at all was responsible for the origin of the Great War.'
Bruce Bairnsfather's cartoon, showing the ex- Kaiser Wilhelm II shackled to the Cenotaph, clearly implies whose fault the war was in the cartoonist's opinion.
