Page from The Tatler featuring photographs of the De Havilland School of Flying at Hatfield Aerodrome. Pictures show the club buildings from the air, the lounge, the paved terrace facing the aerodrome, the club room, a Gipsy Moth in flight, a lecture in progress, the spacious kitchens, the restaurant and office. The school opened in 1923 and would train thousands of airmen during WWII. It closed in 1953.
