Portrait of the well-known society dentist, Mr Conrad Ackner with Lavery's wife, Hazel, Lady Lavery, in the dentist's chair, her grip on the chair's arm clearly evident. Hazel, an artist in her own right, was Lavery's most frequent sitter but this picture of her is particularly unusual.
