Details

Member of the Amundsen Antarctic Expedition of 1910-12 standing on top of the Great Ice Barrier. Three men, under the command of Lt. Prestrud, were sent to explore the King Edward VII Land and the Bay of Whales. This photograph shows one of these men standing at the edge of the Great Ice Barrier, looking down at King Edward VII Land.
