Order of the Garter; the garter itself of blue velvet with the buckle ends , ornaments and motto in diamonds. The Star, the rays of which are diamonds, the cross of St George in large rubies and the centre in blue enamel with the motto 'Honi soit...'; and the Badge of St George and the dragon in diamonds, rubies and emeralds. At the end of the Crimean War, the Sultan of Turkey was invested with the Order of the Garter at Constantinople (now Istanbul) on 31st October 1856.
