View of a colossal sculpture by the Austrian sculptor, Siegfried Charoux, entitled The Islanders, on the facade of the Sea and Ships Pavilion at the Festival of Britain exhibition on the South Bank, London. The three figures represent a man, woman and child, representing the maritime families who have contributed to the development of Britain as a nation.
