A Highland officer wearing his kilt attracts much attention as he walks down the main street of a little town in Italy during the First World War. Women stand and cast admiring glances while curious children run in front of him. The kilted Highland regiments were a novelty in Europe and attracted admiration in France, Belgium and Italy.
