Photographs reporting on the craze for ice dancing over normal dancing in 1929. The skaters featured were performing ice cabaret at the Hammersmith Ice-Drome which opened on 30 December 1929 on the site of the old Palais de Danse. The Ice-Drome was vast and the largest in London. Top left shows Miss Freda Whitaker, the well-known exhibition skater, rehearsing with her partner Alfredo. Top right shows Miss Muriel Lambton and Miss Elina Munro and the bottom image shows Miss Freda Whitaker's Skating Girls.
