Photograph of the Marchington family outside the Post Office which they ran in Dove Holes, Derbyshire, 1913. Mr. Marchington (centre of doorway) was thinking of emigrating to Toronto, Canada, like his brother. Between 1905 and 1913 a quarter of the population of Dove Holes, about 250 people, emigrated to Canada.
