The Marchioness of Downshire, the wife of the 6th Marquess who had the dual roles or Hereditary Constable of Hillsborough Fort, Co. Down, Ireland, and during the war, of a Special Constable in Berkshire. The Marchioness and her husband hosted many wounded soldiers during WWI, both at the family town house in London, and at the Country Seat in Berkshire.
