Lady Londonderry, formerly the Hon. Edith Chaplin, pictured in 1918 when she was President of the Women's War Services Legion (previously known as the Women's Legion) which provided military cooks and motor drivers for the War Office. She was awarded the Order of the Dame of the British Empire for her work during the war. The Sketch reports she is fond of sport and of dogs, 'and one of her favourites, a wise and faithful-looking creature, is seen with her in this characteristic photograph.' She married the Marquess in 1899 and had a son, Viscount Castlereagh, and three daughters.
