Description The Mataro Votive Ship Model, 1930.
Details

Photograph of a ship model, probably built circa 1450, that was hung as a Votive offering in the Chapel of the town of Mataro, Catalonia, Spain. By 1930 this model was in The 'Prins Hendrik' Maritime Museum, Rotterdam, having been bought from the Reinhardt Galleries, New York. This was an extremely rare model of a 15th century ship made at the time.
