Mr A. S. Vernay visited a village of the head-hunting Burmese Nagas with the American Museum of Natural History expedition, taking the photographs that appear on this page which include, clockwise from top left: The chief of a tribe of head-hunting Nagas in full war-dress; close-up of the chief wearing a red and yellow battle head-dress with boar tusks; the chief in 'un-dress'; the sham fighting in full war-dress in the Naga ceremonial dance; dancers in the Naga head-hunting dance; another view of the ceremonial dance after a head-hunting expedition; and the Naga ceremonial dance with dancers singing a chant.
