A modern day soldier lights his cigar at the pipe of a soldier of days gone by. Both soldiers have lived under Napoleon, having seen the rise, flourish and decay and may yet see the dawn of yet another imperial regime under another Napoleon. However, at present they are happy to enjoy the 'piping times of peace' under the Republic.
