Details

Port of Balaklava with sentries in the foreground, warmly dressed in boots and thick coats, during the Crimean War. Supplies piled everywhere, including materials for the construction of soldier's winter huts. The British Government of the day was severely criticised for failing to provide the Army with adequate clothing and supplies.
