"Those red-cheeked, guffawing Cockneys, who sreamed to Epsom in 'coach, carriage, wheelbarrow, donkey cart, formed the inchoate mass whence were drawn the man who shouldered his Brown Bess in the Peninsula, and he who, naked to the waist, fed the guns at Trafalgar."
