How the Easter Rebellion affected people in Ireland: over 3000 rebels were captured, 160 civilians were murdered, including twenty women. The casualties among the British troops were as follows: 124 killed, 388 wounded and 9 missing. The row of five men, 'shot rebels', are from l-r: Thomas Macdonagh, Major McBride, Edward Daly, T.J. Clarke and Joseph Plunkett. The middle image shows hungry children receiving bread.
