Captain Scott's vessel, the 'Terra Nova' in which he sailed to the Antarctic in his great effort to reach the South Pole, pictured leaving the South West India Dock in Portsmouth in June 1910. She dipped the White Ensign to the vessels she passed, and they dipped their flags to her. From Portsmouth she sailed to Cardiff for coal and left on the 15th June for Port Lyttelton, New Zealand where she was joined by Captain Scott.
