Description | The Vengeance of Nitocris, short story by Tennessee Williams |
Details |
Nitocris had so much hatred for the murderers of her brother, that she took revenge. She prepared the most diabolical scheme, ordereding the building of a subterranean hall and excavated wide channels leading to the Nile. When it was completed and decorated, she arranged a big banquet, and invited all those that were directly or indirectly responsible for the murder of him. Once they had gathered at the lavish event, they heard a strange noise behind them, hidden behind some tapestries on the wall were dark cavities were a sudden inrush of water appeared, overturning and crushing everthing and everybody in the hall. No one saw from the balcony high up Nitocris was watching.
