The obelisk ship 'Cleopatra' (nearest) and its tug, in the background, crossing the Bay of Biscay on passage from Egypt to London. The obelisk ship was a specially constructed vessel carrying 'Cleopatra's Needle', an ancient Egyptian obelisk, which had been presented to Britain in recognition of its victories in the Napoleonic Wars.
