Details	The anniversary meeting of the Wolverton Mechanics' Institute in the large engine room of Wolverton Station.1,500 people attended the soiree, which was lit by gas and decked out with flags and greenery. Wolverton was constructed as a railway town by the London and North Western Company, and having built a church and schools for their workers, the Company followed this up with a generous donation to the The Wolverton Mechanics' Institute.
