Meeting of the Kit-Cat Club, with members naming toasts for the forthcoming year, c.1700. The Kit-Cat club was broadly made up of men who supported the Whig political party. This image shows (left to right): The Duke of Marlborough; Sir R. Walpole; W. Congreve; Sir J. Vanbrugh; Sir R. Steele; Lord Mohun; The Duke of Kingston; Lady Mary Pierpoint; The Duke of Richmond; Sir Godfrey Kneller.
