The Tsar Bell, also known as the Queen of Bells, Tsarsky Kolokol or Royal Bell, on display in the Kremlin complex, Moscow, Russia. It is thought to be the largest bell in the world, and weighs 216 tons. It was founded in bronze in the 18th century but has never been rung. During a fire in 1737 a huge slab weighing 11.5 tons broke off while the bell was still in the casting pit. It was placed on display on a stone pedestal at the foot of the Ivan the Great Belltower in 1836.
