Description | Two women preparing for show at Windmill Theatre 1939 |
Details |
Two women in tin helmets photographed as they prepare for a show at the Windmill Theatre. The Windmill Theatre, which today uses the motto "we never closed", had just reopened after its only compulsory state-enforced closure between 4th-16th September 1939. The Sphere comments on the "topical" nature of the performance the women were preparing for which featured tin hats and gas masks.
