Description Underground Reservoir at Crossness 1865
Details

Interior of the underground reservoir of the Metropolitan Main Drainage Works at Crossness in 1865, officially opened by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) in that year. The drainage works at Crossness (now also known as Crossness Pumping Station) was built by Sir Joseph Bazalgette as part of London's drainage and sewage scheme.
