Thomas Joseph Bardell, a corporal in the 7th Queen's Own Hussars, complete with sword and riding boots.
Bardell progressed his career to become a Band Sergeant. Orphaned when he was just 7, he went into a children's home where he was educated and trained as a musician, joining the army as a boy soldier. The 7th Queen's Hussar's were shipped over from India to fight in Mesopotamia (Iraq/Iran) in 1917. He returned to India after WW1 having met his future wife whilst on leave in London. Bardell serving in india during World War Two as an officer in the 1st Punjab Regiment - truly a life of service.
