A selection of women involved in British war services including the Women's Royal Naval Services, the Women's Auxiliary Territorials Service, the Red Cross, the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, the Women's Transport Service, the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry, the Women's Auxiliary Fire Service, the Women's Voluntary Service, the Women's Auxiliary Transport Service, the Women's Land Army and St John's Ambulance Brigade. The accompanying article praises the "courage, devotion and determination of British womanhood", particularly the Women's Land Army in East Kent who continued to plough during raids by German dive-bombers, resulting in their secretary receiving an M.B.E.
